The Colors of Us

Get yourself comfortable with a pillow or your favorite stuffed toy, and settle in to hear “The Colors of Us”, by Karen Katz, read by teaching artist Gabriela Micchia. Seven-year-old Lena wants to paint her portrait with the color brown and says “The right brown, but Mom, brown is brown.” “That’s not so, there are lots of different shades of brown.” her mother replies. They take a walk around their neighborhood, and Lena learns that there are many, many shades of brown.
